Efforts to curb a fire outside Gold Beach continued Monday. An Oregon Department of Forestry Incident Management Team is at the Lobster Creek fire. At last estimate, the size was about 446 acres and the blaze was 10 percent contained. It’s the largest of the season so far and about 150 people fighting the fire, including bulldozers and air support. According to the Curry County Pilot, the fire started at the Lobster Creek Youth Campground . Around 40 people were evacuated from the camp. It’s not clear yet how the fire started. The Oregon Department of Forestry is expected to take over management of the blaze Monday night.
