Enough signatures have been gathered by backers of a countywide sanctuary ordinance, that it may end up on local election ballots. Tuesday, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors could approve putting it on the November ballot. It’s called the “Humboldt County Immigration Sanctuary Ordinance.” The measure would prohibit local law enforcement agencies from cooperating with federal immigration officials. Proponents needed 3,715 signatures and collected 4,315 valid signatures.
