Latest on the Ranch and River Fires making up the Mendocino Complex Wildfires. The fire continues
to spread into the Mendocino National Forest and crews are scouting for opportunities ahead of the active fires edge. Fire crews are fighting the fire aggressively. Very steep terrain and fire intensity on the fire front make it difficult to insert crews in certain areas of the fire. The Ranch fire stands at just under 75,000 acres and is 33% contained. The River fire is at just over 35 thousand acres and is 50% contained. So far, 14 structures have been destroyed and officials say another 12,200 are threatened. They hope to have the fires contained fully by August 8th.
