Latest on the Mendocino Complex fires. The Ranch fire has reached 84,000 acres and is 33% contained. The River fire stands at 41 thousand acres with 50% containment. The fire continues to grow with increased heat and difficult terrain. Firefighters continue to prep and defend structures along with construct primary and secondary control lines. Firefighters will continue to hold existing control lines and scout contingency lines.
Fire Personnel will continue to develop strategic plans to mitigate the Ranch Fires Northern
push towards Lake Pillsbury. In total, 33 structures have been destroyed, 16 of them homes. Officials say another 8,200 are threatened. There have been no civilian or firefighter injuries.
