Solid progress being made in battling the Mendocino Complex Fire. While the Ranch Fire has reached 251 thousand acres, containment is now at 46%. The River Fire has grown to just under 49 thousand acres with 81% contiainment. Fire officials hope to have full containment of the fire by September 1st. In all, 116 homes and 105 other structures have been destroyed. 10,300 structures are said to be threatened by the fire. : The northern portion of the Ranch Fire remained active overnight, moving further into the Mendocino National Forest transitioning into dense stands of mixed conifer. Last night fire crews worked on the southern and south-east edges to increase containment and continue to work towards the threat to the surrounding communities in those areas. The River Fire had no overnight movement.
