A woman was the subject of a water rescue in Humboldt County Thursday. Deputies were dispatched to
the North Jetty for the report of a female juvenile in distress under water.
While enroute to the scene, deputies learned that the juvenile was no longer under water,
however an adult male relative attempting to rescue the juvenile had become stranded on rocks
alongside her.
Through a collaborative effort between both subjects were rescued and transported to a local hospital for treatment related to their extended time in the water.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the Samoa Peninsula Fire District and
the United States Coast Guard for their quick response and for providing essential equipment
allowing a swift rescue.
