A traffic stop led to two arrests on the 800 block of Eureka Street Tuesday night. There were two people inside the vehicle they pulled over. The passenger of the vehicle, 36-year-old
Anthony James Pollette of Redway, gave deputies a false name. Deputies requested Pollette exit
the vehicle and detained him while continuing to investigate. While detained, Pollette attempted
to flee from deputies on foot.
Pollette was taken into custody and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on
three felony warrants for battery on an emergency responder, resisting arrest, evading a peace
officer and criminal threats. Pollette was also booked on fresh charges of possession of a billy
club, false identification to a peace officer, resisting arrest, possession of a narcotic controlled
substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and
revocation of probation. His bail is set at $125,000.
The driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Kayla Austin of Redway, was cited and released on
misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug
paraphernalia.
