Attempted Murder Case In Humboldt County

An attempted murder case is under investigation in Humboldt County. Early Saturday, deputies were called to a property along Highway 36 in the Bridgeville area where one man had reportedly been shot and another had stab wounds. One man was found as units were responding to the scene. He was lying in the roadway with multiple stab wounds and transported to a hospital in stable but critical condition. Closer to the scene, they found a second man with a non life threatening injury to the head. Authorities say the two subjects knew each other and had been involved in a physical altercation prior to the 911 call. During that altercation, one man tried to fire his weapon at the second and then the second stabbed the first multiple times and fled the scene. This incident is still under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time; however, charges are expected to be filed with the District Attorney’s Office
