Update on a story we told you about Tuesday. Late Monday night, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 1400 block of Reasor Road in McKinleyvile for the report of a possible gunshot victim. When deputies arrived on scene, they located a 29-year-old man with injuries to his head. They learned he had witnessed another man break the window of his neighbor’s vehicle and gave chase. That suspect, 20-year-old Dylan James Roberts of McKinleyville, and two other men with firearms confronted the man. He was struck on the head with either a gun or blunt object. He ran back to his home to call for help.
While deputies were on scene investigating, another deputy began to patrol the Reasor Road / Larissa Court area. The deputy observed a man matching the description of Roberts running southbound from Larissa Circle and into a residence’s garage on the 2600 block of Wanda Lane. The deputy contacted the occupant of the residence and confirmed that Roberts was inside of the garage. Roberts complied with the deputy’s requests to exit the garage and was taken into custody without further incident.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
Roberts was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of felony vandalism, assault and battery.
The two unknown male subjects associated with Roberts are still outstanding
