Carbon Sequestration Farm Under Consideration For Eureka

A “carbon sequestration” farm to absorb atmospheric greenhouse gases could be built in Humboldt County. At its May 22nd meeting, the state Wildlife Conservation Board will decide whether to approve just over $1 million from a “greenhouse gas reduction” fund for the project. Those behind the idea say it would provide wildlife-enhancing, climate-beneficial management options for producers on working landscapes. The Redwood Times reports if approved, project managers would work to set up all of the farms by the end of 2022.
