Woman Charged After Allegedly Trying To Run Down Boyfriend

Assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence counts face a woman following an incident on the 3000 block of Hearst Willits Road in Willits, Mendocino County. Police say a 55 year old man told them had been in an argument with his girlfriend who then drove him home. During that drive, he claimed Leah McKay struck him in the face three to four times. When the couple arrived at the male’s residence, he exited the vehicle to open the gate to the property. The man began walking towards the gate at which point McKay accelerated her vehicle towards him causing him to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. McKay attempted to hit him again with the vehicle before driving away. McKay was located later in the area of the 23000 block of East Side Road and was arrested. McKay was booked into the Mendocino County Jail where she was to be held in lieu of $30,000.00 bail.
